ministry proposes cut in capital goods duty to 5 per cent
New Delhi: To counter Brussels objection
to the continuation of the export promotion capital goods
scheme, the textile ministry has proposed for a sharp
reduction in the Customs duty on the remaining capital
goods (machinery) required by textile mills to just 5
per cent.

New Delhi: A new duty-free trading bloc for the
gems and jewellery exporters is informally under way in
the South-East Asian region. According to industry sources,
this bloc styled as MIBSTA comprises Myanmar, India, Sri
