New Delhi: The finance ministry is believed to
have fixed subsidy on domestic cooking gas at Rs 71 per
cylinder, much lower than the actual outgo of Rs 195 per
cylinder borne by the state-run oil companies.

down to 3.15 per cent
Mumbai: A near 10 per cent fall in the price of
vegetables coupled with substantial slide in diesel and
petrol prices, pushed inflation down to 3.15 per cent
for the second consecutive week ending December 7.

Panel okays Delhi Aptt Ownership Bill 2001
New Delhi: A Parliamentary standing committee has
given the nod to the Delhi Apartment Ownership Bill, 2001,
but suggested reduction of stamp duty, clarity on terrace
rights and a single window system for conversion of leasehold
property to freehold to make it easier for apartment owners
to secure their rights.

PowerGrid in pact for transmission
New Delhi: The state-run Power Trading Corporation
has entered into an agreement with PowerGrid Corporation
for construction of the Indian portion of a 132 KV double
circuit line between Anandnagar in Uttar Pradesh and Butwal
in Nepal to enhance the quantum of Indo-Nepal power exchange.

to have polish fire control system
New Delhi: The government will be taking expertise
from Poland for making the military tanks safer. Przemyslowe
Centrum Optyki, based in the Polish Capital city of Warsaw,
will supply fire control system for the T-72 tanks of
the Army.
