company to be floated by the Railways for executing Rs
15,000-crore National Rail Vikas Yojana, will in turn
be forming special purpose vehicles for certain projects.

Dumping
duty on methylene sought
New Delhi: The designated authority set up in the
commerce ministry to probe dumping cases has, in its preliminary
findings, recommended imposition of provisional anti-dumping
duty on imports of methylene chloride from the European
Union, South Africa and Singapore on grounds of injury
to the domestic industry.

ministry favours doing away with EPCG
New Delhi: Even as exporters are pressing for continuation
of export incentives in the next budget, textiles ministry
has asked the revenue department to consider doing away
with an export incentive scheme -- EPCG -- in lieu of
reducing customs duty on capital goods to five per cent.

CII
seeks cut in corporate tax to 30 per cent
New Delhi: The Confederation of Indian Industry
(CII) in its pre-budget memorandum to the government has
recommended abolition of minimum alternate tax and 5 per
cent surcharge on personal and corporate tax, while pushing
for an eight per cent gross domestic product growth.
