Chennai: US commodities giant, Cargill, plans to trade on various commodities exchanges. The US firm's participation will be through its 100 per cent Indian subsidiary, Cargill India Pvt Ltd.

Bayer's 100% arm among 23 FDI proposals cleared
New Delhi: A major proposal from German fertilisers and pesticides major Bayer Crop Science AG to convert Mumbai-based Aventis Crop Science India into a 100% subsidiary by bringing in an investment of Rs 74 crore was among the 23 FDI proposals worth Rs 107 crore cleared by commerce and industry minister Arun Shourie on Tuesday. Currently, Bayer Crop Science holds 67.08% equity stake in Aventis.

Tatas see early end to Jharkhand land dispute
Jamshedpur: The Tatas are expecting the dispute with the Government of Jharkhand over the lease of part of their land in Jamshedpur to be resolved by early 2003.

Mr A.N. Singh, Deputy Managing Director of Tata Steel, said the group was awaiting a settlement with the State authorities concerning renewal of lease. "We expect a positive development on this front by February,'' he told newspersons on the sidelines of a meeting held in the Steel City on Monday.

New Delhi: National Thermal Power Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation have won the gold trophies of SCOPE awards for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management for the years 2000-1 and 2001-02 respectively in the institutional category. Silver trophies for the Turnaround category went to Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) and Electronics Corporation of India (ECIL) for the years 2000-01 and 2001-02 respectively.
