collection zooms 17.19 percent during Apr-Dec

Delhi: Tax collection during April-December 2002 moved
up by 17.19 per cent to Rs 1,48,177 crore. The increase
has been mainly due to buoyancy in excise and corporate
tax realisation.

Delhi: The inter-ministerial core group constituted
to review cheap vanaspati imports from Nepal on Tuesday
deliberated on the possibilities of authorising the Central
Warehousing Corporation to act as the sole canalising
agency.
