Rlys targets higher freight
New Delhi: The Railways will be aiming at a higher freight traffic of 530 million tonne for 2003-04. The higher target is on account of an anticipated recovery in the core sector.

Handloom sector gets Rs 625 cr for 10th plan outlay
New Delhi: Textile minister Kashiram Rana has said an outlay of Rs 625 crore has been allocated for various schemes in the handloom sector during the 10th Plan. The schemes include the Deen Dayal hathkargha protsahen yojana, workshed-cum-housing scheme, weaver’s welfare scheme, design development and training programme, and implementation of the provisions in the Handlooms (reservation of articles for production) Act.
