Kolkata: Turnover-related problems continue to torment
the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE), the low volumes that
are being currently generated on it notwithstanding. section
of CSE members has informed the authorities that they
have difficulty in complying with requirements listed
by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as
they cannot access turnover data.

suspends 17 cos
Mumbai: The BSE on Thursday suspended trading and
refused listing application of 17 companies whose dematerialised
securities are traded on the exchange without permission.
The decision follows the exchange receiving complaints
that some companies have dematerialised securities, which
are traded on the exchanges without obtaining listing
permission.

Approval
of Bill drags ITC only marginally
Kolkata: But for registering a marginal weakness,
ITC did not lose its sheen following the Union Cabinet
approval of the amended Cigarettes and Tobacco Bill. The
stock ended the day at Rs 635.60 on the BSE, down one
per cent with 45,117 shares traded. On the NSE, the stock
closed at Rs 636.05, down 1.04 per cent with 91,276 shares
traded.

band and closed marginally higher for the fourth consecutive
day on Thursday. Index heavyweights witnessed mixed trend.The
stocks of private-sector banks and the information technology
stocks witnessed buying activity while public-sector banks
and steel stocks ended the day in a negative note on account
of profit-taking.
