New Delhi: The
Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry
of India has demanded a review of the definition of 'sick
company' including the provision which declares a company
sick if it fails to repay debt within any three consecutive
quarters.

carry forward of losses likely to be allowed
New Delhi: The government is likely to accept the
Kelkar committee recommendation with respect to indefinite
carry-over of business losses. This will be a major sop
for ventures with long gestation periods in the infrastructure
sector.

for identifying vanishing companies
New Delhi: Government has set up a joint mechanism,
called the Coordination and Monitoring Committee, for
identifying and taking appropriate action in regard to
vanishing companies, Rajya Sabha was informed.
