Mumbai: The United Breweries Ltd has finally managed
to engage Balaji Breweries for exclusive contract manufacturing.
UB has advanced around Rs 30 crore for the half-a-million
hecto litre brewery in Tamil Nadu, which is expected to
be commissioned by March 2003.

from Credit Suisse First Boston has gone sour. According
to sources, CSFB has refused to offer the loan to Zee
Tele, if the government doesn't give an advance nod to
transfer five crore shares of Zee Tele to CSFB after three
years.

New Delhi: Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings Private, the
Indian arm of Coca-Cola Company, completed the placement
of 49% of its equity in its bottling subsidiary, Hindustan
Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited, in favour of Indian
shareholders. The divestment was made on a private placement
basis.

has to cross security barriers
New Delhi: The GoM on FDI on Thursday voted to retain
the right to screen foreign investments in telecom and
civil aviation sectors. As per the decision, foreign investors
in the telecom sector will be required to get security
clearance from the telecom minister who will be free to
engage the services of agencies.
