Opec
ready to act to cool oil prices
Doha: Opec President Abdullah al-Attiyah said on
Sunday the producers' group would take whatever action
was necessary to contain rocketing oil prices. Despite
two output increases already this year, the cartel was
powerless last week to stop prices soaring to a 12-year
high of nearly $40 a barrel amid war Iraq war fears.
