nations likely to resort to non-tariff barriers after
quotas
New Delhi: Industrialised countries are likely to
impose non-tariff barriers on imports from the Third World
after the complete removal of quotas under the World Trade
Organisation agreement on textiles and clothing from January
1, 2005, apprehends the Small Industries Development Bank
of India.

forum on developing countries concerns to meet in
May
New Delhi: The Trade & Poverty Forum, a non-government
forum of participants from the US, the European Union,
India, Brazil, Japan and South Africa, formulated by the
German Marshall Fund of the US last week, will hold its
first discussion in May in Venice on developing country
concerns related to the World Trade Organisation.
