Microsoft
to sell stake in Corel at huge loss
Seatle: Microsoft
said on Tuesday it is selling a 20 per cent holding in
struggling Canadian software maker Corel for $12.9m. In
a recent statement, venture capital investor Vector Capital
said that it will buy 22.9m preferred shares in Corel
from Microsoft for $12.9m. Microsoft had purchased 24m
preferred shares in Corel in October 00 for $135m.

second-most corrupt: foreign execs
Hong Kong: A survey of 1,072 expatriate executives
working in Asia found Indonesia the most corrupt country,
with a score of 9.33 out of a possible 10, although that
was better than last year's score of 9.92. Corruption
was seen to be getting worse in India - dubbed the second
most corrupt after Indonesia.
