San Francisco: Even before the United States went
to war against Iraq, the threat of conflict had drained
$1.1 trillion from the value of the US stock market, according
to a study released on Friday.

Seattle: Boeing Co had issued layoff notices to 960
employees, the company announced on Friday. Most of the
layoffs affected Boeing Commercial Airplanes workers,
company spokesman Bill Cogswell said.

by International Business Machines Corp. in California's
Silicon Valley fell $282 million last year, making the

collapsing real-estate market, an official said on Friday.

Seattle: Boeing said on Friday its Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer Phil Condit earned salary and bonus
totalling $2.5 million in 2002, down from $2.6 million
in 2001.
