Policy to retain all promotional schemes
New Delhi: Following the reduction in the peak
customs duty from 30 per cent to 25 per cent notified
in the 2003-04 budget, there will be a corresponding revision
of rates (with value caps) under the post-export duty
entitlement passbook scheme in the new export and import
policy to be announced on March 31.

concessions sought for big exporting companies
New Delhi: Three apex promotion bodies are making
a determined bid to put pressure on the government to
accord those domestic units which export more than 75
per cent of their total output the same concessions as
applicable to one hundred per cent export-oriented units
in the upcoming Exim Policy.

3 others to study export standards in developed world
New Delhi: With food safety standards becoming
a major impediment to exports to the developed world,
research institutes from India, Australia, Thailand and
the US have decided to carry out detailed case studies
of export standards for a number of product lines of interest
from developing countries.

tax collection up by 14 per cent
Mumbai: Direct tax collection recorded an impressive
14.3 per cent growth at Rs 66,269 crore till March 18
as compared to year-ago period, due to rise in corporation
tax mop up.
