Tetley dividend plan sweetens Tata Tea
Kolkata:
News of a Rs 25.35-crore dividend inflow, courtesy Tata Tea's global operations, saw the stock gain strength on the bourses on Tuesday.The stock ended the day at Rs 183.35, up 1.89 per cent with around 50,662 shares traded on the BSE. On the NSE the stock closed at Rs 183.15, up 1.86 per cent with around 1.2 lakh shares traded.

Open interest jumps in April contracts
Mumbai:
Turnover improved in the futures & options segment to Rs 2936.72 crore on the NSE on Tuesday as against Monday's turnover of Rs 2621.20 crore. This was mainly due to stock futures, whose turnover jumped to Rs 1823.98 crore (Rs 1549 crore) while index futures recorded Rs 430.29 crore (Rs 404.38 crore) and stock options Rs 581.13 crore (Rs 551.95 crore). Index options, however, recorded a lower turnover of Rs 101.33 crore (Rs 115.18 crore).

Re gains 5 paise; gilts rise
Mumbai:
The rupee on Tuesday gained 5 paise against the dollar, in keeping with the international trend. The dollar lost against all major international currencies with the US attack on Iraq facing retaliation.
