to step up protest against VAT
New Delhi: Following the decision of 16 states to
go ahead with the implementation of value-added tax from
June 1, traders have decided to step up their campaign
against the new tax system.

ministry chided for fund underutilisation
New Delhi: The standing committee of Parliament has
expressed its dissatisfaction with the working of the
shipping ministry and has criticised it for not fully
utilising the Ninth Plan outlay of Rs 9,428 crore.
