Tata Steel dips on fall in HR coil prices
Kochi: The share price of steel major Tata Steel tumbled following reports of a sharp global fall in the prices of flat steel and hot-rolled coil. The stock ended the day at Rs 131.10, down 4.20 per cent on the BSE with around 15 lakh shares traded. On the NSE, it closed at Rs 131.10, down 4.31 per cent with around 27 lakh shares traded.

Infosys leads tech recovery in flat market
Mumbai: After a three-day break, the stock markets opened on Tuesday to lacklustre trading, with major indices ending flat. The 30-share benchmark sensitive index of the BSE, the BSE Sensex, was down marginally by 0.49 points ending at 2,997.38, while the S&P CNX Nifty closed higher by 1.40 points at 951.20.

Mukta Arts loses sheen for FIIs
Mumbai: Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) holding in Mukta Arts Ltd has witnessed a sharp decline even as its promoter, Subhash Ghai, has been accumulating the company's stock. FIIs holding in the company dwindled to 1.6 per cent as on March 31, 2003 from 4.95 per cent at the end of September 2002 quarter and from 6.58 per cent at the end of March 31, 2002.

Premium narrows for Index futures
Mumbai: Turnover in the futures and options segment on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday was lower at Rs 2,415 crore compared with Friday's turnover of Rs 3013.45 crore. Stock futures accounted for Rs 1,399.44 crore with 63,449 contracts while equity options witnessed a turnover of Rs 565.90 crore from 23,400 contracts.
