Short-term,
liquid funds see good inflows
Mumbai: At a time when equities continue to be
fraught with volatility due to a slew of negatives on
the domestic bourses,
beginning with the crash of IT stocks, short-term and
liquid funds have witnessed net inflows of about Rs 400
crore in the last three
trading sessions in the week-ended April 25, 2003. Fund
managers opine that there is abundant liquidity in the
bond markets at present, as investors are parking their
money in short-term and liquid funds to avoid risks, just
in case there is no rate cut announced in the forthcoming
Credit Policy.

SEBI
scraps age limit for listing authority post
New Delhi: The Securities and Exchange Board of
India has now done away with its existing regulatory norm
that barred the President or a member of the Central Listing
Authority (CLA) from holding office after the attainment
of the age of 65 years.
The capital markets regulator had recently constituted
a CLA to bring about uniformity in the due-diligence process
in scrutinising listing applications across the stock
exchanges of the country. Justice M.N. Venkatachelliah,
former Chief Justice of India, is now the President of
the CLA, which also has nine other members.
