Euro
Disney H1 loss up at $91m
Paris: French theme park operator Euro Disney posted
an unexpectedly wide first-half loss on Tuesday, dragging
its shares lower, after higher costs and slower tourism
coincided with the opening of its second park. The European
outpost of Walt Disney said in a statement its net loss
in the six months to end-March totalled 82.7m euros ($90.8m),
wider than a 77m euro loss last year when it was hit by
one-off charges linked to the launch of the new Walt Disney
Studios park.

EU
concedes ground on services sector
New Delhi: In a welcome move, European Union on
Tuesday climbed down on its stance on services negotiations
proposing a minimum binding on movement of professionals
but not fixing a ceiling which is expected to benefit
countries like India. The EU offer on services submitted
to WTO proposes to fix a minimum binding on the number
of persons in various sectors but falls short of fixing
an exact number which is open to negotiations bilaterally.
