Nanda in fray for fourth RBI DG vacancy

Bank chairman and managing director AG Joshi and National
Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development chairman Yogesh
C Nanda are in the race for the post of the fourth deputy
governor of the apex bank to oversee the activities of
cooperative banks, which have witnessed a series of financial
irregularities during the last two years, a top ministry
source said.
The
post has been lying vacant for more than five years since
the retirement of RV Gupta an Indian Administrative
Service (IAS) officer in November 1997.
