New CBEC chief
New Delhi: AK Singh took over as the new chairman of the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) on Monday. Singh said his topmost priority would be to provide “transparent and corruption-free” administration in the excise and customs department. Singh was the seniormost member of the board incharge of central excise.

R.C. Jain takes over as Eicher Group CE
New Delhi: There has been a change of guard at Eicher Tractors. R.C. Jain, chief executive, Eicher Tractors, has moved to Eicher Group as chief executive - group affairs and will assist the group chairman in group-level activities. In his new role, Jain will have direct responsibility for the group HR and group internal audit functions. He would also be responsible for incubation of new business opportunities. A. Ramasubramanian, director - Eicher Motors and group head - product development, has taken over from Jain as chief executive - Eicher Tractors. Explaining the rationale for the changes, an Eicher official said, "Movement of personnel across businesses and functions is a normal process at Eicher and is undertaken with the purpose of providing an opportunity to managers to develop and utilise their skills and talents across a range of business activities. R.C. Jain's move from Eicher Tractors, where he has spent nearly six years as chief executive and steered the business through different stages of the industry cycle, is part of this ongoing process."
