Udeshi
is first woman RBI Dy Governor
Mumbai: K.J. Udeshi has been appointed the Deputy
Governor of Reserve Bank of India. She is the first woman
Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. The appointment
is till October 12, 2005 when she completes 62 years of
age. Udeshi who joined RBI in 1965, was appointed as executive
director in 2001. She has had a long stint in exchange
control and the Reserve Bank's internal administration
and human resources departments, said an RBI press release.
Udeshi has held various posts which include RBI nominee
on the board of State Bank of India, member of the governing
board of the National Institute of Bank Management and
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, according to
the release.

Raju
Shahani to lead 11 RCI offices
New Delhi: The RCI global management has assigned
Raju Shahani the task of leading RCI Asia and Middle East.
Shahani will now lead 10 international RCI offices, in
addition to India in his role as President and General
Manager, RCI Asia and Middle East.
According to Ken May, CEO, RCI, "The realignment
has come in the wake of outstanding growth in timeshare
industry in India taking a lead over other markets despite
challenges being faced by global tourism". RCI is
a global provider of leisure travel services to businesses
and consumers.
