New GM for Corpn Bank
Mangalore: V.A. Mendonsa has been appointed general manager and chief vigilance officer of Corporation Bank. According to a bank release issued here on Monday, Mendonsa assumed charge on June 16. Before joining Corporation Bank, Mendonsa worked with Union Bank of India as deputy general manager in charge of the Coimbatore Circle Office.

Panel formed to identify new chief for IDBI
Mumbai: The Government has set up a search committee to identify a chief for term lender Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) that is expected to become a bank soon. The current chairman and managing director, P.P. Vora, retires in September.
The search panel comprised Dr Rakesh Mohan, Deputy Governor, RBI, M.G. Bhide, chairman, NIBM (National Institute of Bank Management), Dr Ashok Lahiri, chief economic adviser, ministry of finance, and Vinod Rai, joint secretary, finance ministry. The panel would identify a suitable person for the post of managing director and chief executive officer, a press release from IDBI said.

According to the release, the candidate would help the organisation in its "transition to a corporate entity and thereafter lead it in its new role with redefined objectives''. The appointment would be for three years, it added.
