SAIL gets new personnel director
Kolkata: Ashis Das, executive director (corporate planning) of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has been appointed as the director (Personnel) of the company, according to a press release from SAIL. Das, who is a mechanical engineer, will now become a member of the steel major's board of directors. A major part of Das's career was built in Rourkela Steel Plant, where he headed several departments, including energy management, coke oven, services and steel making. In 1997, he was appointed as the chief executive of SAIL's international consultancy division called SAILCON.
