Jacob Kurian quits Tanishq
Bangalore: Tanishq COO Jacob Kurian has put in his papers. Kurian will follow a career outside the Tata group. Bhaskar Bhat, managing director of Titan Industries Ltd, was quoted as saying that Kurian is leaving the company. "He is moving on in life and wants to pursue a new career. I will look after the operations of the jewellery division for the time being.

Electrolux Kelvinator goes for internal recast
New Delhi: Electrolux Kelvinator Ltd, a subsidiary of the Electrolux Group, has announced its internal reorganisation and appointment of an A-level team to strengthen the company's thrust in the Indian market. The A-team, headed by Rajeev Karwal, managing director and CEO of the company, will include the senior most executives from the finance, marketing, supply chain and human resource functions. Paul Gelardi, the new CFO (who has joined from Hibernia Foods UK), Rajesh Puri, the new vice-president-sales and marketing (who has joined from OM Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance), and Christopher Lepeltier, the new integral supply chain head (who has joined from Electrolux Floor Care Europe) would form the core of this team along with Karwal, and Shantanu Banerjee, the HR head.

The A-team would also include Michael Hein, Head (R&D); Vihang Shah, Head (IT); Romesh Kaul (who is in charge of quality) and Jayant Kaushal (Product Head - Refrigerator). According to Karwal, the main charter of the A-team would be to strategise the company's corporate and brand building exercise, new category entries, new product launches, and so on, with the overall aim to expand the company's market dominance in the home appliances industry and to turnaround to profitability.
