Sensex
gains due to robust quarterly results
Mumbai: Major indices in the stock markets recorded
gains after being backed by good earnings numbers that
are pouring in from the corporate sector, reports suggest.
The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index (Sensex) closed
higher by 24.68 points, at 3,764.44 points. Lack of support
in the early hours and a spurt of institutional buying
towards the end pushed up the Index over the previous
close of 3,739.36 points. Corporate results announcements
drove the prices in many counters on Tuesday.
