Canbank MF announces interim dividends for 3 schemes
Kochi: Canbank Mutual Fund has announced interim dividends for some of its mutual fund schemes — Canexpo, Canequity Tax Saver and Canincome. Under the income plan, an interim dividend of 20 per cent has been declared on the equity-oriented sectoral scheme, Canexpo, which has a face value of Rs 10. The net asset value of the scheme was Rs 14.20. An interim dividend of 7.50 per cent was declared on equity-linked savings scheme, Canequity Tax Saver, which again has a face value of Rs 10.

The net asset value of the scheme was Rs 11.35. A two per cent interim dividend was declared for the open-ended debt scheme, Canincome, which also has a face value of Rs 10. The distribution was declared under the income plan. The net asset value of the scheme was Rs 10.36. All the dividends will be tax free in the hands of the investors. 1 August has been fixed as the record date for income distribution of the above schemes. All unit holders whose names appear on the register on the record date are eligible for the tax-free income distribution.

Sensex gains due to robust quarterly results
Mumbai: Major indices in the stock markets recorded gains after being backed by good earnings numbers that are pouring in from the corporate sector, reports suggest. The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index (Sensex) closed higher by 24.68 points, at 3,764.44 points. Lack of support in the early hours and a spurt of institutional buying towards the end pushed up the Index over the previous close of 3,739.36 points. Corporate results announcements drove the prices in many counters on Tuesday.
