Vindi Banga joins MUL Board as director
New Delhi: Maruti Udyog Ltd subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corp has revamped its board of directors yet again and has inducted Manvinder Singh Banga, current chairman of Hindustan Lever Ltd, as its fourth independent director with immediate effect.

Earlier this month the company re-inducted old associate and former Maruti managing director RC Bhargava as a part-time director and AV Birla group chairman Kumaramangalam Birla as an independent director on its board.

The other independent directors are Amal Ganguli, former chairman of Price Waterhouse Coopers, India, and Pallavi Shroff, senior partner, Amarchand and Mangaldas and Suresh A Shroff and Co.

ICI India; Changes at board level
Kolkata: Mr Deepak Parekh, chairman of HDFC, has resigned from the board of ICI India, giving way to Ms Renu Karnad, who will be appointed as director from August 1. Ms Karnad is currently an executive director at HDFC.

Other recent board-level modifications include the departure of Dr Ashok Ganguly and the appointment of Mr Narayan (earlier the MD) as the company's chairman.

Earlier this year Mr Narayan had been replaced by Mr R.L. Jain, formerly the CEO, Paints as the managing director of the company. Apart from these the ICI board comprises Mr M.R. Rajaram as its CFO and whole-time Director.

The company has recently seen the passing away of Mr Jahar Sengupta, who was its chairman during 1987-1994.

Nakul Anand appointed MD of ITC Hotels
New Delhi: Mr Nakul Anand has been appointed managing director of ITC Hotels Ltd (ITCHL). He takes over from Mr S.S.H. Rehman, who will continue as a whole-time director on the board of ITC Ltd.

Suguna Swamy resigns from O&M
Chennai: Ms Suguna Swamy, creative director (Chennai, Coimbatore and Hyderabad), Ogilvy &Mather, has quit the agency after 26 years. The agency is yet to decide on her successor.
Ms Swamy said she intended to take a break from advertising, and get involved in teaching, training and mentoring in the advertising business.
