Aga to retire as Thermax chairperson in September
Pune: Thermax Ltd chairperson Anu Aga has announced
that she will retire as chairperson in September 2004,
and recommended the appointment of her daughter, Meher
Pudumjee, as chairperson to the Thermax board. Meher is
currently the vice-chairperson of Thermax. Aga says she
will continue to be on the Thermax board.
Aga,
who will turn 61 in August 2003, has been steering the
wheel at Thermax for seven years. "There is still
a lot of time but I have made this announcement to give
Meher and the organisation to prepare for the change,"
Aga said. Pudumjee, 37, a chemical engineer from Imperial
College of Science and Technology, London, has been with
Thermax for 12 years. Along with her husband, Pheroz Pudumjee,
Meher was managing the UK subsidiary of Thermax and returned
to Thermax India in 1996. She has been heading the corporate
strategic planning function at the company since January
1998.
