Honda to launch small car
Bangalore: Honda has firmed up plans to launch a small car in India.
"We are seriously looking at the `B' segment. We have already commissioned a study in this respect," the Honda Siel Cars President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr H. Yamada, said.

Vijay Mallya to buy Chhabria's stake in Herbertsons
Bangalore: MrVijay Mallya, the chairman if the UB Group has confirmed an impending settlement with Mr Kishore Chhabria to buy out the latter's shareholding in Herbertsons Ltd.

Mr Mallya is scheduled to meet Mr Chhabria in Mumbai on Tuesday in a bid to end the legal proceedings pertaining to the control over the company.

JB Chem to set up research unit in Pune
Mumbai: JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd proposes to set up a research and development unit at Pune with an investment of Rs 40 crore.

The unit, which is funded entirely through internal accruals, will be set up in three years, said Mr Shirish Mody, Whole-time Director.

Tata Tea seeks approval for adjusting accounts
Mumbai: Tata Tea Ltd has informed the BSE that it is seeking shareholders' approval for adjustment of miscellaneous expenses to the extent not written off amounting to Rs 41 crore in the books of accounts and any accretion during 2003-04 against share premium account.

This is subject to approval of the Kolkata High Court, National Company Law Tribunal or any other regulatory authority.

Transgene Bio to go for issue allotment

Wockhardt introduces Recombinant Human Insulin
Mumbai: Wockhardt has announced the launch of India's first recombinant human insulin at a price of Rs 129 for a 10 ml vial. The company has branded its human insulin as 'Wosulin' and would be manufactured at its biotech park in Aurangabad.

The insulin has been attractively priced, as Eli Lilly, among others, had recently announced a reduction in their human insulin from Rs 218 to Rs 145 for a 10 ml vial.
