Microsoft
co-founder Paul Allen's TechTV on the block
New York: Paul Allen, the entrepreneur and co-founder
of software maker Microsoft is looking to sell his technology-related
cable channel TechTV, The Wall Street Journal reported
TechTV,
owned by Allen's investment firm Vulcan Ventures is worth
between $250m and $300m, said the paper, citing sources.
Cable
channel operator Viacom, and Sony, co-owner of the Game
Show Network have been approached to buy TechTV, the Journal
said.

Amazon
sues Web marketers for faking e-mail
New York: Amazon said on Tuesday it is seeking
millions of dollars in punitive damages from 11 online
marketers in a crackdown against e-mail advertisements
that falsely bear the Amazon address and sully its name.
Amazon's
lawsuits, filed in the United States and Canada, raise
the profile of marketers fighting an onslaught of "spoofers"
who use brand names in their e-mail addresses to lure
unsuspecting customers.

Adidas
launches 400 mn euro convertible bond
New York: Adidas-Salomon said on Wednesday it was
launching a 400-million euro ($435 million) bond convertible
into around four million of its shares to help improve
its debt situation and financing terms.
Adidas,
the world's second biggest sportswear firm by sales after
U.S. giant Nike, said in a statement that the bond, which
has a 15-year maturity, would carry a coupon of 2.4 to
2.9 percent and a conversion premium of 40-45 percent.
