Mumbai,
Kolkata miss CAS bus, Chennai catches it
New Delhi: The Indian government's plans to implement
the conditional access system (CAS) had just one taker:
Chennai. Mumbai and Kolkata missed yesterday's deadline
and households here continue to receive pay channels without
a set-top box.
In
Mumbai, the Shiv Sena put a spoke in the rollout process.
The West Bengal Government wants a few extra days' time
to implement the system. But the information and broadcasting
ministry is not willing to defer the CAS in Mumbai. The
CAS Implementation Committee, which met here, took stock
of the rollover process.
