Sangh Parivar dharna against WTO
New Delhi: The Sangh Parivar on Tuesday organised a mahadharna against the World Trade Organisation (WTO). This is believed not only to show its strength, but is a tactic to pressurise Commerce Minister Arun Jaitley. Reports say that mixing facts with fiction, history with mythology, and economics with hearsay, speakers lambasted the World Bank, US multinational corporations (MNCs) and the WTO.

The Mahadharna was organised by Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and some other similar Sangh organisations. In his inaugural address, the founder of SJM, BMS and BKS, Dattopant Thengadi, ciriticised developed countries for continuing subsidy in agriculture. "This subsidy lowers the price of their goods, thus adversely affecting the farm sector in developing countries."
