IDBI to play development financing role even after conversion into bank
New Delhi:The Reserve Bank of India would be taking a back seat when the Industrial Development Bank of India is converted into a commercial bank.

According to latest plans drawn up by the Ministry of Finance, though IDBI would be corporatised and converted into a bank, it would continue to play a development financing role.

Hutch targets million customers in Gujarat
Ahmedabad:Hutch has set its eyes on crossing the one-million subscriber base in Gujarat over the next six months.

Talking to the media here, Mr Sandip Das, CEO, Hutch Gujarat, said the company was on target to reach the one-million mark by February 2004. It was growing at the rate of 50,000 incremental customers each month, according to him.
