People on the move at StanChart; Agrawal becomes COO
Mumbai: Standard Chartered Bank has promoted two of its senior-level officials from Indian operations (Soumen Basu and Ajoy Kapoor) to global positions. The bank has also appointed Sanjeev Agrawal, chief financial officer, as its chief operating officer (COO).

Basu was the COO of StanChart India. He has been appointed the wholesale bank programme director, Basel, and will be relocated to Singapore. Ajoy Kapoor, who was the regional head strategic sourcing and property management has been appointed in the newly created (group strategic initiative) on service excellence. This is a new group created in the bank worldwide to improve service.
