Mumbai: The Securities and Exchange Board of India
has reduced the time period for record date and book closure
with immediate effect following the representation received
from various quarters of the securities market.

Kelvinator to submit revised rights issue proposal to
SEBI

Delhi: Electrolux Kelvinator Ltd, the Indian subsidiary
of the Swedish white goods major AB Electrolux is all
set to submit its updated letter of offer for the Rs 199.7-crore
rights issue proposal before the Securities and Exchange
Board of India.

seeks UTI help to study Finance Ministry circular on service

Kolkata: The Association of Mutual Funds in India
has requested Unit Trust of India to examine the Finance
Ministry's circular which says the services of distributors
of mutual funds are basically in the nature of services
of commission agents as defined under `Business Auxiliary
Services' and are liable to service tax.

investors now more informed: Bajpai
Mumbai: The SEBI Chairman, Mr G.N. Bajpai, today
said small investors seemed to have become more informed
about the stock market as they had sold shares in the
rising market this year.
