Fourth
Indo-EU Summit cancelled
New Delhi: The fourth Indo-EU summit has ended
up in a fiasco as Silvio Berlusconi, European council
president and prime minister of Italy, had a serious attack
of gastroenteritis after he had boarded his special aircraft.
Berlusconi had to be de-planed.
The
summit has now been downgraded to ministerial level. Italian
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Margherita Boniver
said she will now lead the talks with an opposite number
the Indian side decides to field. Boniver flew to India
to explain the situation to External Affairs Minister
Yashwant Sinha.
