BHEL engineer honoured
Hyderabad: Dr Hari Shankar Jain, additional general manager, heading the gas insulated power equipment and switchgear laboratory at Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd's (BHEL) corporate R&D division, has won the National Design Award 2003. The award was instituted by the Institution of Engineers (India) and the National Design and Research Forum.

Jain received the award at a function organised at Lucknow recently. "Dr Jain's efforts in the design and development of gas insulated substations in 36KV and 145KV classes have opened up a new business proposition for the organisation," BHEL said in a statement.
