Gold touches record Rs 6,370
Mumbai: Bullion prices in the country hit the roof today with spot gold (pure) touching a new all-time high of Rs 6,370 (10 grams) at close after trading at an intra-day high of Rs 6,420, backed by a strong rally in silver prices. Silver traded at close to Rs 10,000 in intra-day trades before settling at Rs 9,835.

Foodgrain stocks at 5-year low
New Delhi: Foodgrain stocks in the central pool have dipped to 254.48 lakh tonnes as on December 1, a five-year-low for this date. It virtually signals the end of the party for export of grains from the country, more so in an election year when the Government has every reason to be wary of any possible spiralling of domestic prices.

COAI files withdrawal application
New Delhi: The Cellular Operators Association of India has formally filed an application to withdraw its challenge to limited mobility and unified access service licensing that was pending before the Supreme Court. According to an official statement, the withdrawal was unanimous as applications were filed to withdraw all three appeals pending before the Apex Court in this regard.
