Arun Pande quits Ashok Leyland
Chennai: Arun Pande, executive director (marketing), Ashok Leyland, has quit the company. Official sources were quoted as sayinf that this happened last week due to 'family reason'.

Pande joined Ashok Leyland only in April, in the place vacated by Amol Sandil, who left the company in January. As the ED in charge of marketing, Pande was responsible for both domestic and overseas operations.

Two new directors at Kirloskar Electric subsidiary
Bangalore: Kaytee Switchgear, a subsidiary of Kirloskar Electric Co Ltd, has inducted V S Raju and Sarosh J Ghandy as two new directors on the board of the company. Raju is a well-known personality in the field of technical education. He was a Director of IIT, Delhi, and also a professor and dean at IIT, Chennai. At present, Raju is a part-time member of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Sarosh J Ghandy has held various positions in Tata Motors and currently he is the special advisor to the chairman, TELCO Construction Equipment Co. Ghandy after graduating from Carnegie Institute of Technology, US in 1958 joined Tata Engineering & Locomotive Co, Jamshedpur, and joined the board of Telco in 1976.

Balakrishnan becomes CEO and MD, Lazard India
K Balakrishnan has been appointed as the chief executive officer and managing director of Lazard India Ltd. Balakrishnan, who joins Lazard from HSBC, will also become an MD of the UK-based Lazard LLC. He will be based in Mumbai.

The appointment of Balakrishnan, 44, follows Lazard LLC's recent increase in its shareholding in Lazard India, reinforcing the company's commitment to the Indian market. Udayan Bose remains chairman of Lazard India.
