first to use tax info network facility
New Delhi: Infosys Technologies Ltd has become
the first company to file an e-TDS return through the
national Tax Information Network (TIN). The network was
officially launched by the Finance Minister, Mr Jaswant
Singh, here today.

LNG
price being finalised for fertiliser units
New Delhi: With the first shipment of liquefied
natural gas from Petronet LNG due to arrive next week,
the Government is in the process of finalising LNG prices
for the gas-based fertiliser units within the next few
days.

BPO investments may dry up, alerts Nasscom
Mumbai: Indian business process outsourcing organisations
face the possibility of a freeze on the flow of fresh
captive outsourcing orders from MNCs. The trigger for
it has been the recent Government notification that seeks
to tax the profits earned by MNCs and foreign companies
from outsourcing their core business process services
to India.

estimates $12 b software exports this year
Mumbai: Projecting a 26-28 per cent growth in software
and services exports in 2004, the National Association
of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) is keen to
explore new markets in East Asia ,Japan, Taiwan and China.
