bullish on market recovery
New Delhi: Finance minister Jaswant Singh on Sunday
said there was nothing to worry on account of the recent
fluctuations in share market as economic fundamentals
were very strong even as he exuded confidence that the
market will go up again.
"There
is no cause of panic as economic fundamentals are very
strong. The Sensex is undergoing a correction and it will
go up again. I am confident about it," Mr Singh told
Doordarshan News.

Hedge
funds under SEBI scrutiny
Mumbai: The Participatory Note route used by foreign
institutional investors to invest in the stock markets
has been held culprit by many for creating volatility
in the market.
The
Securities and Exchange Board of India clamped down on
unregistered companies using participatory notes to invest
in the capital markets.

Morgan
Stanley Dean Witter, Govt of Singapore buy Satyam stock
Hyderabad: The Government of Singapore and Morgan
Stanley Dean Witter Mauritius are among the foreign institutional
investors who have invested in the Satyam Computer Services'
stock recently.
This
has taken the overall foreign holding in the company to
66.48 per cent during the quarter ended December 31, 2003
from 61.08 per cent during the quarter ended September
30, 2003.
