Inflation
falls below 6 per cent
New Delhi: Inflation
has dropped to 5.8 per cent after remaining over 6.0 per
cent in the recent period, with declining prices for fruits
and vegetables, eggs and some of the edible oils.

Bank to step up aid next fiscal
New Delhi: The World Bank on Friday indicated higher
assistance to India next fiscal from close to $2 billion
this fiscal based on optimism that the country would be
able to sustain the GDP growth rate of eight per cent.
