Sensex ends lower
Mumbai: The BSE Sensex opened moderately lower at 5847.97 against yesterday's close of 5855.10. It reached a high of 5893 and touched a low at 5771.87 during the day. The Sensex closed at 5850.72, down by 4.38 points over the previous close. At the NSE, the S&P CNX Nifty was down 6 points at 1852.65 over the previous close.

IPCL issue oversubscribed
Mumbai: The Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (IPCL) issue is reportedly oversubscribed on its opening day. The stock price of IPCL has closed at Rs 196.30, up 0.69 per cent on the BSE.

SEBI clarifies on the Participatory Note issue
Mumbai: The Securities and Exchange Board of India has clarified today that foreign institutional investors can issue Participatory Notes (PNs) to entities that are regulated by either a central bank, securities commission or a stock exchange.

PNs can also be issued to individuals or entities like funds, trusts, collective investment schemes, investment companies or limited partnerships whose investment advisory function is managed by any of the regulated entities.

13 new scrips added to derivatives list
Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange has added 13 scrips to the derivatives segment. With the addition of these 13 scrips the total number of scrips traded on the derivatives segment of BSE will go up to 45.
