Sri Lankan Airlines links up Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Sri Lankan Airlines has made Hyderabad its ninth destination in India. Announcing this to the media, Mangala Munasinghe, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, said bilateral trade with India had gone up and Indian exports to his country grew to $1,076 million in 2002-03 from $550 million in . Sri Lanka's exports to India went up to $340 million from $35 million during the same period, he disclosed.

Currently, Sri Lankan Airlines operates 60 flights a week to India.

ESC to leave with big team for the CeBIT Hanover fair
Abu Dhabi: The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) will be participating in a big way at the CeBIT 2004 which is scheduled to take place at Hanover from March 18 to 24. The Indian ICT (information, communication & technology) contingent will comprise of more than twenty companies, who will showcase their products and services at the India pavilion.

The EU region continues to be the second largest destination for India's software and services exports accounting for more than 23 per cent of the total during the fiscal ended March 31, 2003.

Parmalat Capital has just $378,279 in Cash
New York: Ernst & Young, the provisional liquidators of a Cayman Islands affiliate of insolvent Italian food company Parmalat, are reported as saying that Parmalat Capital Finance appears to have just $378,279 in cash while it owes more than $1 billion to other companies.

Ernst & Young has an information-sharing agreement with Enrico Bondi, who has been nominated as Parmalat's administrator. A total of 18 people have been detained in the investigation, including company founder Calisto Tanzi.
