Lupin's
Suprax to launch in US
Mumbai: Having received regulatory approval for
the antibiotic Cefixime in the suspension form
Lupin will re-launch the product in the US under the Suprax
brand. This will mark Lupin's entry into the branded generic
market in the US. Suprax is set for launch in the US by
April, and Lupin is looking forward to garner sales of
about $51 million. Lupin is a Mumbai based pharmaceutical
major.

Rs
1,006-cr ONGC project order for L&T
Mumbai: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has
placed a turnkey project order valued at Rs 1,006 crore,
for nine new wellhead platforms, with Larsen & Toubro.
The platforms, according to a company press release, are
expected to boost oil output from Mumbai High South by
around 2.15 million tonnes per year and increase gas production
by 3.87 million cubic metres per day. L&T will have
single point responsibility for the complete engineering,
procurement, fabrication and installation of the platforms.

Dr
Reddy's files application with USFDA
Hyderabad: Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. says that
it has filed an abbreviated new drug application with
the US Food and Drug Administration for amlodipine besylate
tablets 2.5, 5 and 10 mg, with a paragraph-IV certification
on the two Orange Book patents listed for the drug. Dr
Reddy's Labs have also said they had notified Pfizer,
This is consequent to a lawsuit being filed against the
company, in the US District Court for the district of
New York, alleging patent infringement on the two Orange
Book patents.

Quantech
Global to expand centre
Bangalore: Quantech Global Services, a US-based
auto design, analysis and engineering services company,
will be adding 300 engineers and making a $3-million investment
at its Asia Technical Centre at Bangalore. The company
has technical delivery centres in the US and liaison offices
in Europe, China, Japan and Australia, and its customers
include GM, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Delphi, Honda, Visteon
and Toyota.

bags BMTC order
Bangalore: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Company
have given an order to establish a control centre and
install GPS-based vehicle tracking systems in BMTC vehicles,
to MobiApps, a provider of hybrid, terrestrial and satellite
technologies for industrial communications. MobiApps,
will be executing the order along with Advanced Micronic
Devices Ltd (AMDL), a supplier of equipment and solutions
based on the Global Positioning System. The system will
track 1,400 of BMTC buses. BMTC is the first road transport
corporation to implement such a project in the country
and the project would be commissioned within the next
four months. As part of the deal MobiApps with AMDL will
operate on a build, own and transfer basis for a period
of six years.

CoWare
opens R&D centre at NOIDA
New Delhi: The US-based CoWare has announced the
opening of a research and development centre at Noida
and says it will invest $5 million in the next two years.
The Noida centre will initially be responsible for system
level IP (Internet Protocol) model library creation for
CoWare's Electronics System Level (ESL) design products.
The company will also increase its headcount from 25 to
50 in the near future.

Hyderabad: Softbrands Inc., a solutions provider
for manufacturing businesses, has announced a move to
team up with product teams at SAP AG, a major business
software solutions provider, to address small-and-mid
size manufacturers with a comprehensive management solution.
Both the companies unveiled plans to integrate Fourth
Shift, SoftBrands' leading manufacturing software, into
the SAP Business One product suite, in order to provide
significant manufacturing functionality for the small-and-midsize
market sector, says a company statement.

and UbiNetics tie up
Bangalore: Jataayu Software, a subsidiary of Integra
Software, have tied up with UbiNetics Ltd. to integrate
Jataayu's WAP 2.0 browser, WAP stack and the MMS client
on Integra's GSM/GPRS terminal reference platform. UbiNetics'
customers can now offer ready-to-go messaging applications
and significantly reduce the overall time to market new
handsets. Jataayu has provided its software to eight of
the top fifteen terminal reference platforms and UbiNetics
is one of these.

to market Datatex's TIM
Bangalore: Infinite Computer Solutions has announced
a partnership with Datatex A.G., providers of manufacturing
solutions for the textile and apparel industry. As per
the agreement, Infinite will be responsible for the marketing
and sales of Datatex's TIM (Textile Integrated Manufacturing)
offering in India. TIM is a specialised ERP solution designed
for textile and apparel manufacturers, and provides modules
for various functional areas of management such as sales,
inventory control, manufacturing, planning costing and
quality management. According to a company press release,
Infinite will also create an implementation and support
team in Bangalore, which will be responsible for implementation
services to the rest of South Asia and South East Asia,
besides India.

Akzo
opens competence centre in Bangalore
Bangalore: The Dutch company, Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes,
has opened its international information and communication
technologies (ICT) competence centre in Bangalore. According
to Akzo, the move would strengthen its presence in the
Indian market and develop it as a knowledge centre, aimed
in particular at the collision repair market. The ICT
competence centre focuses on test work and activities
like data retrieval and programmes. It will work closely
with the existing global centre at Velp in the Netherlands.
The Bangalore centre is part of Akzo Nobel Refinishes
India, and supplies paint, decals, services and software
for car repair, commercial vehicle and auto-plastic interior
and exterior components

Pacific: Portal for agents
Chennai: Cathay Pacific Airways will launch a portal
for travel agents which will help agents access information
on fares quotes and other relevant information. The airline
has also roped in film actor Hrithik Roshan for a promotional
film. The airline is currently operating three freighters
out of Mumbai and two out of Delhi.
