fund: India confirms $10 m
Abu Dhabi: India has confirmed its pledge of $10
million to the International Reconstruction Fund Facility
for Iraq , and with it has become the only developing
country to meet the minimum threshold of multilateral
assistance to the facility. The pledge of $10 million
will be equally divided between the World Bank and UN
Trust Funds, which form part of this facility

Mauritius
bank opts for Finacle
Bangalore: Infosys Technologies has announced that
Mauritius Post and Co-operative Bank has signed up to
deploy its banking solution, Finacle,.With five out of
12 banks in Mauritius now being powered by Finacle, Infosys
has further strengthened its dominant position in the
island nation, said a company release. MPCB has licensed
the Finacle solution stack covering areas like retail
banking, trade finance, financial management and loan
origination.

Overseas: Diversifying product range
Mangalore: Satnam Overseas Ltd, manufacturer of
Kohinoor brand of Basmati rice, is diversifying its product
range to other food products. It has introduced packaged
products such as Kohinoor Heat & Eat Indian Curries,
Kohinoor Rice & Curry and Kohinoor Namkeenz.
Kohinoor Heat & Eat Indian Curries are a range of
ready-to-eat Indian delicacies which use the retort technology
to offer extended shelf life to the products through steam
sterilisation. Packed in retort pouches, these products
could be made ready to consume in two to three minutes
by immersing the pouch into boiling water or putting the
contents of the pouch in microwave oven and heating them.
Traditional Indian savouries such as bhelpuri, aloo
bhujia, and bhakarwadi are also available under
the brand Kohinoor Namkeenz.
According
to the company, the Kohinoor brand enjoys more than 32
per cent share of the branded Basmati rice market in India.
Satnam Overseas Ltd has emerged as an Rs 450-crore company
offering a diverse range of high-quality Indian food products.
