Trade with Pak: Jaitley asks for new synergies

New Delhi: Addressing a conference on India-Pakistan Economic Relations organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry , the minister for commerce and industry, Arun Jaitley, urged the business communities of India and Pakistan to forge alliances and also said that the Government would actively facilitate all endeavours in this direction. According to him, sectors such as tourism, entertainment, tea, textiles and pharmaceuticals could be considered for building synergies between the two countries.

Former WorldCom CEO Bernard Ebbers indicted
New York: Former WorldCom CEO Bernard Ebbers has been indicted on federal fraud and conspiracy charges accused of conducting the biggest accounting shell-game in corporate history. Ebbers amassed a personal fortune exceeding $1 billion while building the giant telecommunications company, which is now called MCI. The fraud at WorldCom is now estimated at $11 billion.

WorldCom filed for bankruptcy July 21, 2002. In a bid to mend its reputation, WorldCom changed its name to MCI last April and moved its headquarters to Ashburn, Virginia.
