Flexcube
tops in sales
Bangalore: i-flex solutions has announced that
its flagship product Flexcube has been ranked the world's
number one selling banking solution for 2003 by International
Banking Systems (IBS), UK, in its annual sales league
table for the second consecutive year. As compared to
last year's table, the gap between Flexcube and the second
highest selling package has increased over the last year.
Flexcube is the only software product designed and developed
by an Indian company to feature in the top five banking
solutions for 2003. It has been consistently ranked among
the top two highest selling banking solutions globally
since 1999 and has been ranked No 1 since 2002. Flexcube
has 170 customers (as of December 31, 2003) across over
70 countries, many of which are leading financial institutions.

Britain
will not discourage outsourcing
Pune: In a statement in Pune today, the British
High Commissioner in India, Mr Michael Arthur, said the
British Government will not stop British companies from
either outsourcing work to Indian companies or setting
up companies here that will do work outsourced out of
Britain.
The British High Commissioner, however, said the Government
was concerned about the people in Britain who would lose
their jobs due to the outsourcing of work and said it
was tackling the issue by re-training and equipping this
section of the populace to move further up the service
industry chain.

Finacle
for Thai banks
Bangalore: Infosys Technologies Ltd, Export-Import
Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank) and Yip In Tsoi & Co
Ltd, Thailand, have announced that they have signed a
strategic partnership to revamp the bank's core technology
platform with Finacle, the universal banking solution
from Infosys. Under the agreement, Exim Bank will deploy
Finacle across retail and corporate banking, trade finance
and treasury operations of the bank.
