EU:
Transparency in anti-dumping measures
New Delhi: The EU member-countries have endorsed
a European Commission proposal which postulate that definitive
anti-dumping or countervailing measures would be considered
adopted unless a simple majority of EU member-states opposes
the move. The EU would also introduce mandatory deadlines
to complete review investigations and clearer rules on
enforcing trade defence measures. This responds to calls
from importers and exporters from third world countries
for greater predictability.
