Greenspan
warns against BPO ban
Washington: The Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan,
in a testimony before the House of Representatives' Education
and the Workforce Committee on Thursday, said that a ban
on outsourcing to India, trade barriers or new protectionist
measures won't bring back American jobs. He warnd that
it would "surely" result in more job losses
if other countries were to retaliate in kind. He told
the representatives that erecting trade barriers would
discourage innovation and lead to an eventual stagnation
in the country's standard of living.
